Since 2000, Climate Action Partnership has provided a range of consulting services for municipal, provincial, and federal governments, and many other government agencies, private and non-profit sector clients.
Our staff have worked on green development standards in Ontario since their emergence over a decade ago. We will work with your staff, elected officials, developers, and other local stakeholders, to create custom green development standards that reflect both your local circumstances and environmental objectives.
Our Team creates locally relevant yet ambitious climate action plans for Canadian communities. We can develop both corporate and community level plans, detailing both greenhouse gas reduction and resiliency objectives. We will work with you to establish targets, actions, implementation strategies, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks, consulting with relevant local stakeholders and decision makers at strategic points through the process.
At CAP we create greenhouse gas inventories for both communities and municipal corporations. Our staff are trained in various GHG accounting protocols and have completed inventories for municipal partners across Ontario. CAP staff can also submit to relevant protocols on your behalf (such as PCP). We can also complete subsector inventories, for transportation, waste, buildings, fleet, or specific facilities.
We have designed and implement residential home energy retrofit programs for municipalities across Ontario. We will work with you to develop feasibility studies, program designs, and implementation plans. We will work with you to apply for program capital funding, and administer programs in partnership with municipalities and other strategic partners across Ontario.
For 25 years, CAP staff have been leaders in designing and delivering municipal staff training, facilitation, and engagement sessions. From smaller ad-hoc facilitated sessions to multi-year, multi-stakeholder collective impact programs, we have worked with a range of government and non-government partners to meet their facilitation and engagement needs. We also develop customized training programs on climate change mitigation, adaptation, and active transportation.
Micromobility devices hold great potential for meeting transportation mode share targets, supporting healthy active lifestyles, and providing low-barrier transportation options for equity-deserving communities. We work with staff and communities to develop integrated planning frameworks that center accessibility while encouraging much needed micromobility adoption. We can help answer questions around what types of devices to permit, where to permit them, and how infrastructure and maintenance standards need to adapt to support all forms of mobility.
Understanding how a street is performing and who it is performing for, requires much more than a simple vehicular traffic count. Creating roadways that support health, vibrancy, and equity means taking a holistic approach to street analysis. For over a decade, TCAT has set the bar for active transportation audits that establish a baseline of human-centred street performance data. Audit data has played a central role in informing design decisions and building broad support for complete streets and vision zero infrastructure.
We perform a range of custom research services for government and non-government clients including bespoke research projects, policy scans, tool development, and custom report writing.
