Benchmarking the energy use of buildings is a critical first step in understanding the performance of our existing building stock. It provides the foundation for jurisdictions to increase transparency and scale up retrofits, enabling municipalities, building owners, and occupants to assess relative energy performance and identify opportunities for retrofits that reduce both energy consumption and emissions.
Join Ian McVey (Durham Region) and Brent Kopperson (Windfall Ecology Centre) as they share insights from the Durham Greener Buildings program. We’ll explore program design, the roadmap for establishing effective benchmarking initiatives, and how these efforts accelerate climate action at the community level
