Urban sprawl often leads to the expansion of municipalities into previously undeveloped areas, increasing greenhouse gas emissions due to greater transportation needs and new infrastructure. To address this, municipalities are exploring ways to incorporate greenhouse gas considerations into urban expansion requests. In this webinar, the City of Ottawa and the City of Hamilton will share their approach to integrating greenhouse gas considerations into the urban boundary expansion application process.
