This webinar will have presentations from Toronto Hydro and City of Toronto as well as Burlington Hydro and City of Burlington for how the municipality and utility are working to better understand the readiness and needs of the electricity distribution system to support decarbonization actions and targets.
Presenters will speak to the work they are undertaking to better understand what is needed at the distribution level to enable the needed scale of electrification to achieve community greenhouse gas reduction targets. Topics covered will include:
- What analysis was undertaken and who and how it was undertaken
- High level assumptions and methodology used
- Top level findings/learnings from the analysis, gaps in understanding thus far
- How this work is informing how the utility and the municipality need to work together
- How the findings from this work are being brought into LDC investments plans and the limitation LDCs face when trying to bring the findings into their investment plans
