Better Homes Burlington (BHB) was launched as a pilot program in 2023 to help homeowners understand options, available incentives, and the cost of home energy upgrades to improve energy efficiency.
Homeowners could apply for an interest-free loan from the City of Burlington for up to $10,000 to purchase and install an air-source heat pump and/or improve air sealing. A total of 142 residents accessed the concierge service with 56 applications submitted and 16 loans approved. In 2024, an additional six loans are available. A request was made to Council to consider creating a revolving fund as part of the 2025 budget to increase the annual number of loans offered.
