The City’s first EV charging station on public property was installed in 2015.
2023 update:
By the end of 2023, there were 36 stations with 70 charging ports. All stations are Level 2 though the City’s first Level 3 charging station will be installed in downtown Burlington in 2024.
Burlington’s Parking and Idling Bylaw (By-law 39-2016) states that a $47 ticket can be issued if you don’t abide by the following rules:
· EVs must be plugged in
· EVs must move within four hours of parking
· Only EVs may park in designated EV parking spaces
