Timeline: 2023 onwards
Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre, a health and wellness centre in Ontario, has received LEED Gold certification.
The 4,974 m2 (53,550 sf) building makes use of 1,300 energy-efficient rooftop solar panels and a geo-thermal field for heating and cooling. This project is expected to generate at least 660 megawatt-hours per year. These improvements are expected to reduce the facility’s energy consumption by an estimated 43 per cent and greenhouse gas emissions by 19.9 tonnes annually.
