Timeline: 2023 onwards
In 2023, the City of Oshawa introduced its first seven fully electric vehicles to its fleet. These vehicles are 100 percent battery-powered.
The seven new 2023 Chevrolet Bolt vehicles have been deployed in the community; four will be used by the City’s municipal licensing enforcement officers and three will be used by the City’s building inspectors. The City’s new green fleet will lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, which will translate to overall savings for the City through lower operating and maintenance costs.
In addition to Oshawa’s first green fleet of fully electric vehicles, the City has an additional 10 hybrid vehicles used by municipal law enforcement and recently installed 16 (14 public facing) EV charging stations at its facilities. Another four fully electric vehicles have also been ordered.
