Timeline: 2023 onwards
The Whitby Sports Complex began construction in September 2023 and is currently under development. The building will target both Canada Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design LEED Gold and Zero Carbon Building Design (ZCB) Certifications.
The facility will be the first Zero Carbon building and LEED Gold facility in Canada with a twin pad arena, gymnasium, and aquatics facility thanks to several environmental sustainability initiatives integrated into its design.
